I meant to post this ages ago. And by ages I mean about 2 months ago when I finished it. I wanted to get commercials out of the way so I can pad out my filmmaking resume but the challenge was making it a commercial that you didn’t roll your eyes at.

My computer blew up about a month ago while in the middle of editing my first commercial. Well maybe not actually “blew up” but it sure was smoking a lot. When you press the power button on your computer and the BIOS won’t even boot up, more than likely there’s a physical problem.
These are just some test shots I put together to practice for an upcoming project.
Many times as a musician, when I make music for vocalists, they ask me if I can make something sound like “so and so” from the radio, or whatever pop-friendly trend is going on at the moment. Most of the time, it’s “Of course!” A good amount of time it’s “Hell no!” Why hell no?
You know why I love making montage’s or in my vernacular “motion portraits”? Because they’re easy. Well, easier than narrative at least. I needed a sequence that showcased my ability to do action scenes. Since I didn’t have a budget to crash cars or have permission to shoot guns in the downtown area the next best thing would be sports. Hockey was the most accessible for me.
The story behind this capture was that I wanted to capture a sunrise with my new camera. I’ve captured sunrises with my old still camera before but never with video.
