Yes, I know I haven’t been posting much. I also had this 50 post challenge I was adamant on pursuing. Then stuff happens. In my case I had to align the direction I wanted this site to move in with my current value system that’s residing in my head.

A lot has changed since I started my venture online. This blog used to be called TheBastardChronicles (dot com). That name has now become that of my current reality-show-type series I created a few years back. I’m working on the next episode now, just in case you’re wondering.

As with most ventures, things pivot. I’ve pivoted a couple times in the last few years since 2009. What started off as a static place on the internet to showcase my work and relieve stress by writing in my “blog,” (which still to this day sounds juvenile and hobby-like–I feel like I should be talking about my cats, if I weren’t allergic to them), has turned into sharing what I’ve learned about art, creativity, and life-stuff. Going from a selfish outcome to a self-LESS endeavor.

In these last few years of being public online I’ve learned tons about myself as well as changed a shit-ton about myself. One thing I’ve learned to let go of was how people perceived me. It goes like this: I’m never going to please everyone. And there’s always going to be someone out there that think you’re a douchebag. Stay true to my intrinsic personality and fuck what others think. Yeah, I cuss. Ooops.

Which brings up another reason for the whole “pivot” of my site thing I’m talking about here. How I express myself is prohibited in the terms of service of my old hosting provider so I needed a place where I could actually BE myself. Aside from me hosting this site on my own server, which I have no patience to maintain and the frequent blackouts I have at my residence may be a problem, switching to a new host who doesn’t mind the vulgarities of my demeanor seemed a simpler alternative.

With that explanation out of the way, here’s what I’m looking to do from this point on:

  1. start a community of film-freakish, music-loving, geek-natured, blunt talking, dream-making, yet business-savvy folks. (I can’t just be a one-of-a-kind can I?)
  2. learn and share about anything creative that interests me. Although of course I have that ONE thing that I’ll always gravitate to and will probably be labeled as.
  3. meet a bunch of you crazy/artistic/creative/superhuman mofos. (If there’s a verb I forgot, add that to this list)

So in the mean time, have a look around. Feel free to comment. I hope things aren’t too messed up from the recent migration. I’m still working on tweaking things here and there so don’t be surprised if something that worked before suddenly stops. That’s probably just me.

And now an awesome quote that pretty much sums up what this site, and me as a person, are all about.

“Creative activity could be described as a type of learning process where teacher and pupil are located in the same individual.” — Arthur Koestler
